J is for Joe-Joe

I have a recording of my son, Joe, at about 2 years old. We showed him a cat and he said "Kitty". We showed him a dog and he said, "Dog". We showed him a cow and he said "Cow". We showed him a tree and he said "Tree". We pointed to Great Aunt Bessie and he said "Bessie". We showed him a picture of his bestest cousin Rudi and he said "Joe-Joe"!

Joe and Rudi played together all the time and the most Joe ever heard Rudi say to him was "Joe-Joe" this and "Joe-Joe" that and so the real "Joe-Joe" thought his cousin name was Joe-Joe too.

When Joe flipped and totaled his pickup coming home from college on icy roads umpteen years later, he also gave up his Montana license plates, which he'd had personalized as "Joe-Joe". And he gave cousin Rudi one of them for Rudi's birthday with this note written on the back of the license plate, "MAY YOU FOREVER BE KNOWN BY A DIFFERENT NAME."  At that moment in time, Rudi said it was his most precious Montana souvenir.

And now an advertisement:  If you want to get your daily breath of fresh air, wander over to Jenny's daily blog.

  16. We have a big family and there is so much love! I adore the photo! Thank you for your prayers for my SIL Cindy, she came out of the surgery and is already standing and eating! Check out my hubby's blog, tennesseemudbug.blogspot.com for so more adorable little boy photos! He also is participating in Alphabe, I think he is the only male! But he loves it! Got tired of listening to me talk about it and decided to join in!

  18. Good Morning Nadeen!

Thanks for stopping by the farmhouse for a visit. We love having company!

It is good to find someone that has your name. I always look for "Jacquelin's" when I am out touring old graveyards--I know, some people do think I am weird. But, I find it interesting. There really aren't that many of them!

Your Joe-Joe post is so cute. Kids come up with the darndest things! Makes me wish I was a kid again!

    Have a great week!
